Boyd Technologies - News
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced on May 21st that Boyd Technologies received a grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts through the Manufacturing Emergency Response Team (M-ERT) to boost domestic production of FDA registered personal protective equipment (PPE).
Boyd Technologies has aggressively responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with immediate action. In response to shortages of medical equipment, we temporarily pivoted some of our activities outside of our normal business operations. To that end, Boyd Technologies has made an impact working directly with hospital systems, state and local authorities, and our commercial partners.
Like so many of our partners in the health care industry, we are responding to the calls for support from state and federal agencies as well as our commercial partners. A number of our production lines are well suited to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) – however, we do not produce this equipment currently. In order to do so, there are substantial technical and raw material challenges, which we are actively working on.
Boyd Technologies has expanded cleanroom manufacturing capabilities with the installation of an ISO Class 8 clean room at their manufacturing headquarters located in Lee, MA.
“This expansion increases our capabilities and flexibility to scale production in a controlled manufacturing environment,” said Scott Crawley, VP of Operations.
